Throughout the school year, counselors will come into 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classrooms to teach social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons to students. Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. These skills are essential to the daily lives of students, as they actively address social, emotional, and academic growth.
